Student Summary

The Student Summary screen displays key student data on one screen, including ESE, ELL, and 504 indicators, custodial contacts, current enrollment/attendance details, current year grade summaries, letter logs, discipline graphs, published reports, select demographic fields, test history, and applicable ESE exceptionality details (for Florida districts). The Student Summary respects your permissions, e.g. if your profile does not have view permissions to Test History, the Test History section of the screen does not display.

1. In the Students menu, click Summary.

2. On the Search Screen, enter search criteria to locate the student and click Search.

You can also access the Student Summary screen by clicking Summary at the top of the student's record in Student Info.

Student Info

The Student Summary is displayed. At the top-left corner of the screen, the student's photo, name, student ID, and grade level are displayed. Additionally, ESE, 504, and ELL indicators display, if applicable (a term other than ESE may be used if configured by your district.)

4. Click the Communication button to open the Compose tab of the Communication screen, with the student automatically selected as the recipient.

5. Click the Print button to print the Student Summary.

The Contacts block(s) list the student's custodial contacts.

Contacts with particular contact flags (e.g. Custody) may be highlighted with specific colors for emphasis if configured by the district.

6. Hover over the contact to view details in a tool-tip. Click the contact to view the contact information in Addresses & Contacts.

The Attendance Summary section includes total full days possible, total full days attended, total full days absent, total instructional minutes missed, enrollment dates, and attendance summary cards.

7. Click an Attendance Summary Card to open a detailed modal displaying the underlying attendance records for that category. Depending on the selected card, the modal may include additional summary information, such as attendance code totals, along with detailed records for the selected date range.

a. Click ABSENCES to view a summary of absence information for the selected date range, including the total number of days absent, periods absent (or minutes absent, depending on district configuration), attendance percentages, and a legend showing each attendance code with its corresponding count. You can also review detailed absence records, including the date, section, attendance code, attendance title, and other related information. Click Close to close the pop-up window.

The Current Grades section displays a summary of the student's grades.

The Letter Log section displays any records included in the Letter Log.

The Discipline section displays discipline referral graphs for Action Days, Discipline Code, Location, Time, Weekday, and Month.

The Reports section displays any files that have been published to the Student Portal.

In the Demographics section, student fields that were enabled by your district to be visible on the Student Summary are displayed.

The Test History section displays the student's test history. This may include trend graphs for tests taken multiple times, if enabled by your district.

The ESE Exceptionalities section (Florida only) displays the ESE Exceptionalities logging field if the student has an exceptionality.

In the Custom Enrollment Fields section, student enrollment fields that were enabled by your district to be visible on the Student Summary are displayed.
